Peter Brock and Jim Richards dominated the 1979 Bathurst 1000 in the Holden A9X Torana, winning by six laps and setting a 2:21.1 lap record. It was the Torana's fifth and final Bathurst win, marking the end of a legendary era in Holden racing.
